James E. Seavey

Jim graduated from Mount Desert High School in Northeast Harbor, Maine in 1965. He attended the University of Maine for one year before enlisting in the Navy in 1966, where he served on the USS Colette, as a Fire Control Technician and was discharged as a 3rd Class Petty Officer in 1972.

He attended Nasson College after active duty and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 1973.

Jim settled in the financial services industry in 1976. He spent 3½ years at Northeast Bank of Sanford, Maine beginning as a collector and progressing to Installment Loan Officer.

In 1979, he was hired as the first full-time CEO of Savers Federal Credit Union. During his 17½ years as CEO, he grew the credit union to $13,000,000.00+ in assets, employing 16 full and part-time employees. The credit union enjoyed an excellent reputation for providing unsurpassed member service.

His next full-time employment was Darling's Auto Mall in Ellsworth, where due to honest, almost pressure free sales methods, he sold autos to individuals the dealership never sold before. Then came Nationwide Business Services and after 4+ years there, he and his brother Jon, founded Innovative Payment Solutions LLC (IPS) in August 2002. IPS built it's foundation in the NSF (bad check) recovery arena. Jim's utilizes his sales background plus customer service orientation combined with his knowledge of banking operations, all invaluable tools.

Today IPS is the largest Independent processor of NSF checks in New England (presently processing NSFs for 475+ locations), resulting in Jim's appointment to the regulatory agency's regional office, NEACH (New England Automated Clearing House) Rules and Operations Committee.

IPS recently began marketing the FINEST WEB-BASED PAYMENT PROCESSING SYSTEM ON THE MARKET TODAY.
